NRA INSTRUCTOR PERSONAL PROTECTION IN THE HOME COURSE
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Short Description : To develop NRA Certified Instructors who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to conduct the NRA Personal Protection In The Home Course
More Details: The course is nine hours long and is conducted by an NRA Training Counselor in a classroom and at a shooting facility.
PPITH Instructor candidates will learn the following topics:
1.Introduction to NRA Basic PPITH Course Outline and Lessons Plans
2.Teaching PPITH Lesson I: introduction to Defensive Pistol Shooting
3. Teaching PPITH Lesson II: Basic Defensive Pistol Skills
4. Teaching PPITH Lesson III: Firearms and the Law, Possession, Ownership, and the Use of Deadly Force
5.Teaching PPITH Lesson IV: Strategies for Home Safety and Responding to a Violent Confrontation
6. Teaching PPITH Lesson V: Selecting a Pistol for Self-Defense
7. Teaching PPITH Lesson VI: Sport Shooting Activities and Training Opportunities
8. Teaching PPITH Lesson VII: Course Review and Examination and Course Conclusion
PRE-REQUISITES
1) NRA (BIT) Basic Instruction Training must be completed within the 24 months preceding this course
2) Must have completed the NRA BASIC PPITH Course
3) Must be an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor
4) Must pass PPITH Pre-Course Qualification Test
Bring your handgun and 500 rounds of ammunition.
