HOME FIREARM SAFETY COURSE
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Short Description : To develop NRA Certified Instructors who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to conduct the NRA Firearm Safety Home Course
More Details: The course is five hours long and is conducted by an NRA Training Counselor in a classroom.
HFS Instructor candidates will learn the following topics:
1. Introduction to NRA HFS Course Outline and Lessons Plans
2. Teaching HFS Lessons I & II: Gun Safety Rules,and Firearm Identification and Unloading
3. Teaching HFS Lessons III & IV: Safe Gun Handling Practical Exercises, Ammunition, Firearm Cleaning and Storage
4. HFS Instructor Examination
PRE-REQUISITES
1) NRA (BIT) Basic Instruction Training must be completed within the 24 months preceding this course
2) Must pass the Pre-Course Assessment
